So, yesterday Jamie flew over to Paris and hopped a speed train to Brussels to meet me in Belgium. She will be here with me until the 19th and I am glad to have her here. We just got back from dinner and dessert....an authentic Belgian waffle topped with chocolate ice cream and sauce. 'Mmmm a little slice of Heaven', Jamie says.
Tomorrow we are going to take a train out and explore the Belgian city of Bruge. It's most notably famous for the Basilica of the Holy Blood....which supposedly contains a relic of some of Jesus Christ's blood brought back from the Crusades. It was said that Joseph of Arimathea wiped the blood from the body of Christ after the crucifixion and its preserved in the cloth.
Then on Wednesday we are flying to Nice, France for a 3 day stay on the French Riviera followed by another 3 days back in Paris before Jamie returns home. It should be an exciting week and we'll try to post many pictures!
