Some Pics from IAAF World Cross Country Champs

World Cross was in Punta Umbria, Spain. The meet headquarters was in a super sweet oceanfront resort and as you can tell had some pretty nice views of the sunset....a nice reminder that summer is just around the corner. We also were fortunate, on behalf of USATF, to get to tour the monastery and port where Christopher Columbus planned, financed and eventually set sail for his voyage to the New World. It was in the port city of Huelva only a few kilometers from our hotel. The sanctuary in that picture is still original from the 14th century. Hard to believe Christopher Columbus sat inside those 4 walls. The Captain of the Pinta, Captain Martín Alonso Pinzón, is buried underneath the alter up front.

January 2011

I spent the month of January and part of February training out at the Olympic Training Center in COlorado Springs, CO. The experience was awesome and all of the fantastic trails/resources/medical staff seemed to help get me back on track. The weather was in the between 45-70 degrees for nearly my entire trip with barely any snow which made for a great winter training hiatus. Here are a few random pictures from the trip. The classic bigfoot sign was on the drive up to the summit of Pikes Peak and the funky looking bubble I am running in is called an Alter-G treadmill. You can lower your bodyweight while running on it.....all the way down to 20% bodyweight (16% is the equivalent of running on the moon). Looking forward to a return trip in the future!

Happy Belated Birthday Marley

Her birthday was 3 weeks ago, but finally here are some pictures from her big day. She had a Minnie Mouse party at the house and then we had her dedicated at our church that same evening. It was such a fun afternoon and we were thankful to have so much of our family over to celebrate on an unseasonably warm 75 degree day in mid-November. It's incredibly hard to believe our little girl is a year old already. We should note too, althought she wasn't walking by her first birthday, she did start motoring around Grandma Cullison's house on Thanksgiving evening! We'll be getting the hurdles out now very soon!
